How it started
In 2019, Toon and Ans Niels came to live temporarily in the courtyard of Doornenburg Castle.
What started as a practical solution quickly grew into a dream in a special place. When the opportunity arose to take over the inn, they didn’t hesitate for a moment. With their enthusiasm, love for hospitality, and eye for atmosphere, they gave the inn a new lease on life.
An inn with a story
There are many places where you can eat, drink, and stay overnight, but there are few places where you truly step into a story. Herberg & B&B De Doornenburg is one of those places.
Located in the courtyard of the iconic Doornenburg Castle, this inn breathes history, hospitality, and friendliness.

For us, it’s all about attention and atmosphere. We like to keep it personal, warm, and accessible. No fuss, just good food, genuine hospitality, and a place where you immediately feel at ease.
Whether you stop by for coffee, lunch, or a festive gathering, we make sure everything is just right with a love for the craft and an eye for detail.

We do it together. With an enthusiastic and committed team, we ensure a great atmosphere in the inn every day. Everyone contributes in their own way, whether at the bar, in the kitchen, or at the table. What binds us is the love for the craft and the pleasure of working with people. You can feel that when you walk in.
